Additionally, concept art suggests that the New Armor's scarf acts as a disruptor for enemy radars. Axl wanted to equip the Booster Parts, but Professor Gaudile warned him that they may go out of control on other Reploids, so X was the only one able to safely equip them due to his New Armor. The only confirmed ability that it grants X is the capacity to equip the Booster Parts found in the Gimialla Mine, which increase X's Dash power to allow him to break boulders. Not much is known about the New Armor's properties, including if it is a set of Armor Parts worn by X or a direct upgrade to his base armor (with his Hyper Modes being Armor Parts). The scarf's color is red by default, but it can be changed to different colors in the Sky Room: blue, yellow, green, or purple. The most notable difference are the openings in the back (resembling a letter X), which produce two energy trails referred to in-game as a "scarf" ("Beam Muffler" in Japan) whenever X is moving. It has new white and gold highlights, a belt in place of a codpiece, and also turns X's inner body black with white lines. The New Armor has a slightly more streamlined design than X's base armor, especially around the legs.
